Salary: Science C.1 $113,022 - $124,884 pa + 12% superannuation

About the role: 

Provide expert advice, guidance, and delivering programs in noise sciences. You will lead the delivery of EPA’s scientific advice and guidance on the North East Link Project, in line with relevant policies and regulatory requirements under the EP Act 2017. You will inform regulatory strategic decisions by the EPA about complex noise pollution problems. This is a senior role for an experienced noise scientist that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA.

 

In this role you will:  

  • As a senior member of the Noise Sciences team, role model high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity; managing individual work advice allocations and planning for noise science advice including for the North East Link project. 
  • Provide scientific advice, guidance, and deliver programs on noise sciences, that meet the priority needs of the EPA as a science-based regulator.
  • Deliver scientific advice to inform regulatory and strategic decisions about noise pollution, ensuing an understanding of potential environmental impacts of different options.
  • Analyse scientific evidence and prepare statements of opinion for use in compliance and enforcement activities, including prosecutions.

 

Skills and experience: 

  • A tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in applied science, environmental science, engineering or equivalent, preferably with specialisation in noise. 
  • Senior level experience in the delivery of applied environmental sciences, preferably related to noise pollution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in noise pollution sciences, sources and management..
