About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Field Specialists, the Team Leader, Field Specialists – Contaminated Land Notifications is a senior member of a team responsible for delivery of the Duty to Notify Contaminated Land Notifications Program. You lead a team in the engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, provision of expert technical and regulatory advice, operational support and continuous improvement initiatives relating to contaminated land notifications. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Plan, oversight and deliver programs to improve the regulation of contaminated land, developing risk-based approaches to solving environmental and human health problems.
  • Actively contribute to the development of a positive high performing team culture including pro- actively identifying improvement opportunities to optimise the performance of the programs systems and processes.
  • Establish relationships and partnerships across EPA to deliver outcomes in accordance with EPAs project management framework, risk, and issues management framework in line with corporate governance and procurement requirements.
  • Build capability across EPA and externally with those in management control of land related to the new duties and contaminated land notifications, including by providing training, technical and regulatory advice.

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A relevant tertiary degree or qualifications is desirable.
  • Senior level experience and recognised expertise in the regulation of contaminated land.
  • A detailed knowledge and understanding of Victoria’s environmental protection laws.
  • Advanced management skills and demonstrated capability to plan, monitor and deliver multiple concurrent projects / programs, including risk identification and management, budget development and management; optimise the allocation and use of resources; and evaluate project / program effectiveness.
  • A broad understanding of environmental regulation as it relates to pollution and waste is desirable.
