Salary: VPS 5.1 - $113,022 to $124,884 + 12% superannuation

About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Compliance Programs, the Team Leader, Infringements is a senior member of a team responsible for statewide compliance programs that are delivered away from the field, largely through the review of duty holder and community reports. You lead a small team responsible for leading EPA’s regulatory response to litter and motor vehicle infringements, including post-issue infringement management, aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities to prevent harms to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
In this role you will:
- Plan, oversight and deliver the statewide motor vehicle and litter infringement programs, including post-issue infringement management, and oversee the motor vehicle roadside operations
- Maintain EPA’s infringement management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all legislative and policy requirements
- Contribute to the conduct of inspections, investigations, and enforcement action by providing information on where potential breaches of environmental laws have occurred, including providing support for summary prosecutions for court elect matters
- Lead the analysis, negotiation, and resolution of compliance issues, developing briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for discussion and consideration and will contribute to the development of a set of final options for decision
- Lead a centre of expertise and upskill regional operations teams in relevant infringement matters and the motor vehicles roadside operations, as well as other parts of EPA including by providing training and technical advice
Skills and experience:
- A relevant tertiary degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Senior level experience as a regulator.
- Knowledge of infringement management.
- Ability to implement performance management and development frameworks that manage staff performance.
- Advanced management skills and demonstrated capability to plan, monitor and deliver multiple concurrent projects/programs
