Salary - VPS 5.2: $128,635 to $140,849 + 12% superannuation
Location - 664 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 (candidates must be prepared to travel across the State as required)

About the role:
The Senior Intelligence Analyst provides specialist intelligence leadership to support the statewide Illegal Waste Dumping Taskforce, delivering intelligence‑led detection, identification, compliance and enforcement outcomes. The role focuses on increasing EPA’s intelligence capability for illegal waste dumping through advanced analysis, applied intelligence support to operations, and leading the planning, procurement and application of new detection and identification technologies, as approved by the Taskforce Program Steering Committee.
In this role you will:
- Deliver operational, tactical and strategic intelligence products to support Illegal Waste Dumping Taskforce interventions, including offender identification, hotspot analysis and organised waste crime insights.
- Lead intelligence support for detection, compliance and enforcement activities, enabling evidence‑based operational planning and regulatory action.
- Lead the procurement, assessment and implementation of new detection and identification technologies (including camera‑based systems, analytics and emerging tools).
- Build EPA’s intelligence capability in new and emerging technologies relevant to illegal waste detection and offender identification, translating technical capability into operational outcomes.
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrated senior‑level experience as an intelligence analyst in a regulatory, compliance, law‑enforcement or taskforce environment.
- Proven experience supporting operational interventions through applied intelligence.
- Experience contributing to or leading intelligence‑related technology initiatives is highly desirable.
- Ability to be present at times and locations as required to successfully perform the role. This is usually satisfied by the possession of a current Victorian driver’s licence.
