About the role:

You will manage and deliver regulatory actions to protect Victorian communities from pollution and waste. You’ll lead inspections, monitor compliance, and manage infringements and enforcement. This role plays a key part in achieving EPA’s strategic priorities and fostering positive relationships across government, industry, and community.

 

In this role you will:

  • This role includes overseeing an Environment Protection Officer as a direct report.
  • Lead waste transport regulatory actions through education, compliance monitoring, and enforcement.
  • Contribute to team culture and development, actively participating in investigations and emergency responses.
  • Provide support and guidance to team members, lead to compliance projects, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive improved environmental outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve environmental and public health outcomes.

 

Skills and experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (desirable) and experience in waste transport regulation.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and proven success in a regulatory role.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Successful completion of Authorised Officer and Field Response Officer training (on-job), or completion within a reasonable time frame from commencement in the role.
