Location: 664 Collins Street, Docklands - Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office)

About the role:
In this role, you’ll support EPA’s statutory planning functions by reviewing planning applications and preparing advice that aligns with our strategic priorities. You’ll work closely with internal teams and government stakeholders, gaining exposure to real-world planning processes and environmental regulation.
In this role you will:

Assist in delivering EPA’s referral functions under the Planning and Environment Act 1987

Review planning applications and prepare advice on potential environmental and human health risks

Ensure that our advice reflects EPA’s commitment to harm prevention

Collaborate with internal teams and build strong internal working relationships

Develop external relationships with key planning stakeholders

Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and experience:
-
A strong understanding of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Victorian Planning Provisions

Familiarity with EPA’s role under the Environment Protection Act 2017
-
Skills and knowledge of statutory planning processes in Victoria

The ability to manage tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
