About the role:
Reporting to the Manager Data Strategy, Data Management Transformation, the GIS System Developer is a senior
member of a team responsible for priority enhancements and improvements to data platform at EPA. You will develop
and oversee the delivery of comprehensive development and support activities for EPA‘s ArcGIS system, aligned to EPA’s
strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
This is a senior role for an experienced GIS system developer that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it
enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria.
In this role you will:

Work with business to identify enterprise location service's needs; plan, design, build, and deliver solutions to location services needs on the EPA’s ArcGIS and Data Engineering platforms.

Support team to assess enhancement requests, understand time and resource costs, tasks and skills required, and project planning.

Provide ongoing location services support to organization, including but not limited to defect resolution, backlog management, guidance and training development, system administration.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including but not limited to define and design, service level agreements, interface agreements, quick reference guides, data registries.
Skills and experience:

A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in geomatics, geography, remote sensing, environmental science, computer science or a related discipline is desirable.

Experience in GIS, data management, and/or data engineering, preferably within Government.

Independently performs professional or technical work at an advanced level

Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS, and other location services technologies, FME workbenches, Microsoft Azure and associated tools, SQL, and SQL DBA. Skills in Python, R, Power BI preferred
