Salary: VPS 5.1: $113,022 to $124,884 (pro-rata) + 12% superannuation

About the role:

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Northwest, this outward-facing role leads strategic engagement with communities, industry, government, and stakeholders. You’ll be the voice of EPA in the region - driving proactive and reactive communications that support frontline regulatory operations and EPA’s strategic priorities.

 

In this role you will: 

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships through forums and stakeholder meetings.
  • Lead regional engagement planning and delivery, providing expert guidance to EPA staff.
  • Prepare internal briefs for senior leaders, including the CEO, and share insights across teams.
  • Deliver weekly updates from policy and engagement teams to support informed decisions.
  • Contribute to regional management decisions—this role has no direct reports but plays a key leadership role.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, ideally within a regulatory or government context.
  • Strong writing skills, with experience crafting strategic plans and communications content that supports media and executive messaging.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate technical content into clear, accessible messaging.
  • High level of organisation and self-motivation, thriving in autonomous environments.
  • Proven ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, and reporting procedures to achieve optimal outcomes.
